1. Trail Mix
Customize a blend of sweet and salty to your liking. In a ziptop bag, combine a handful each of snacks like almonds, dried cranberries, cashews and mini whole-wheat pretzels.
2. Fruit Salad
For something refreshing, put chunks of pineapple and mango in a container with a tight-fitting lid. Add frozen peach slices, strawberries and blueberries to help keep it cool.
Pack low-fat cheese sticks along with some crunchy breadsticks.
Sandwiches are too bulky and messy for the beach. Instead, spread PB&J on whole-wheat flour tortillas, roll, then cut into sushi-style bites. Pack in a lidded plastic container.
In a zip-top bag, pack a mix of carrot and celery sticks and cucumber slices for dipping.
